About My Approach

I approach my work as a psychiatrist with deep respect for the responsibility it carries and the trust it requires. My aim is to provide care that is thoughtful, steady, medically grounded, and informed by a whole-person perspective. I recognize the deep interconnection between mind and body, lived experience, mental and physical health, relationships, and the broader environment in which you live, and I consider these factors carefully in shaping treatment.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric care within a collaborative partnership. Together, we will select evidence-based treatment aligned with your goals and values, which may include psychotherapy, medication management, health-focused lifestyle strategies, or a combination of these approaches. When helpful and with your consent, I may communicate with other professionals involved in your care or with individuals you choose to include to ensure thoughtful coordination and support beyond our sessions.

My therapeutic style is steady, warm, and collaborative.  I draw from insight-based (psychodynamic) therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. I integrate these frameworks thoughtfully, based on what will most effectively support your goals.

I work with adults and older teens experiencing anxiety, trauma, panic, depression, burnout, questions of identity and belonging, life transitions, grief, chronic stress, and overlapping or complex symptoms. As a physician, I am especially attentive to the ways emotional distress can intersect with physical health, medication effects, sleep disruption, substance use, and nutritional factors. Additional areas of focus are outlined on the “Typical Issues Addressed” page.

I strive to create a supportive space where you feel safe to speak openly about what has been weighing on you, and where we proceed at a pace that feels appropriate and manageable. In our work together, I will support you in clarifying what matters most, reconnecting with your strengths, and building practical skills to navigate stress and uncertainty with greater ease and clarity.  We will focus on symptom relief and work toward building deeper understanding, resilience, and lasting wellbeing.
