About Dr. Nicole
About Dr. Nicole-a little about me and my interests:
I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and multicultural.
During my personal time, I enjoy being with family and friends, having alone time, being in nature (walking, hiking, swimming), and the arts (music, dance, photography, books, movies, painting).
My interests in the mind, diversity, and social justice started developing at a young age.
- I am fascinated with how the mind works - its ability to change and adapt to what we experience or learn, and its complex communication with the rest of our body (mind-body connection).
- I am intrigued about the similarities and differences between the inner worlds of individuals.
- And I am passionate about protecting the wellbeing of all, regardless of our differences. We all need to feel safe, understood, valued, and loved.
My education and training is from Harbor-UCLA, Stanford, UCSF,
UC Berkeley, UCSD, and New Jersey public schools (listed in reverse chronological order).
I completed my psychiatry training in 2009. During my over 15-year career, I have worked in various settings including private practice, high-need clinics, residential, emergency, and hospital units. In these settings, I have worked with clients from many different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, each with
their own unique life experiences, interests, and goals.
