Services Offered:
As a psychiatrist in private practice, I offer a personalized approach tailoring therapeutic tools and techniques to help each of my patients/clients improve their health and wellbeing (e.g. mental health therapy, health-promoting activities foods or supplements, &/or psychiatric medication to support or restore mental health). My goal is to help my patients/clients better understand and value themselves, and achieve increased joy, peace, meaning, and fulfillment in their lives.
I currently only offer services to people who live in California, who are at least 16 years of age, and who speak English or Spanish or can provide their own interpreter if they speak another language.
You must also be a good fit for my practice, and my practice must be a good fit for you. I offer a free 20-minute initial conversation to briefly discuss your needs and explore whether my practice and services align with your mental wellness goals.
What is treatment like? When starting treatment, during the first two appointments, we will begin by reviewing your life experiences, interests, values, beliefs, goals, and challenges, in addition to your medical history. This information will help me recommend appropriate treatments and tools to support your health and wellbeing, and together we will determine a personalized approach that you are comfortable with.
Based on your specific goals, I may offer tailored mental health therapy using proven methods to help you process and explore thoughts and feelings, overcome challenges, and achieve emotional wellbeing (e.g. supportive, CBT, aspects of DBT and mindfulness approaches, or therapy for motivated couples). I may recommend certain health-promoting activities, foods, or supplements. If appropriate, I may offer thoughtfully selected psychiatric medication to support or restore your mental health and wellbeing. I may offer to help educate a person important to you so they can better understand and support you. If I think you may benefit from a further specialized therapy or treatment that I do not currently offer, I will recommend an additional provider who offers this service and can coordinate your treatment with this provider.
Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. Your specific goals and progress will determine the frequency and duration of treatment. My goal is to support you in a way that feels right, ensuring consistent improvement and overall wellbeing.
Coordination of care: Outside of treatment sessions, for your health and safety—and with your permission—I will share basic information with your primary care provider (e.g. results of labs or neuroimaging, medication responses, and current medications and supplements). When appropriate—and with your permission—I may coordinate treatment with other providers involved with supporting your health and wellness goals (including if you are working with an outside psychotherapist).
Location of services and appointment times: For your convenience and comfort, telehealth visits are available from anywhere in California, with a flexible appointment schedule, including mid-to-late mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends. Most services are provided by telehealth, but on occasion in-person visits are available in the San Francisco Bay Area (from San Jose to San Francisco and Oakland), and the Santa Cruz, Monterey, Los Angeles, and San Diego areas.
Cost of Services: Please contact me for my current rates of services at (408) 471-0448 or [email protected].
In order to provide individualized treatment prioritizing your unique mental health and wellness needs, I have returned to a private pay out-of-network psychiatry practice model. Payments can be made by credit/debit card (including cards funded through HSA/FSA), check, Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle. After each appointment, I provide a “superbill” or receipt of payment for services which contains the minimum necessary information in case you choose to seek reimbursement or deduction as allowed through your health insurance (out-of-network) or health care savings account (HSA/FSA).
Extent and Limitations of Services:
If you have a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911, 988, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Once you are out of the emergency situation, we can explore the next options regarding your care.
My practice does not offer services for medical or psychiatric emergencies, hospital admissions, or hospital-based care. I do not have any direct hospital affiliations or hospital admitting or treating privileges. When appropriate—and with your permission—I can discuss your care with outside medical providers, with the goal of supporting your health and wellbeing.
As a solo psychiatrist with multiple clients and no support staff, I cannot always be available. Your message (voicemail, email, etc.) is important to me, and I will do my best to respond to you within 1-3 business days.
